Expert clinical and communication input when your team needs a clearer way forward
You may already have a marketing, clinical or content team in place.
But some decisions still need an experienced outside perspective — especially when communication involves complex evidence, clinical risk, patient understanding or responsible claims.
Strategic Advisory gives you focused access to more than 20 years of clinical experience, alongside expertise in health communication and health informatics.
Focused Strategic Advisory from £240
Is this the kind of support you need?
Strategic Advisory may be right for you if your team needs help with:
messaging or positioning decisions;
patient or professional communication;
clinical accuracy and evidence;
claims, risk or responsible AI messaging;
deciding what to prioritise;
sense-checking an individual piece of communication;
working through a difficult communication problem.
You bring the question.
I help you see the issue more clearly and decide what to do next.
What is Strategic Advisory?
Strategic Advisory is flexible, expert support for organisations that already have the capacity to carry out the work but need clinical and communication judgement along the way.
It is designed for focused questions, important decisions and individual pieces of communication.
This may include:
reviewing a webpage, article, email or patient resource;
discussing how to explain a complex product or idea;
identifying communication risks;
challenging unclear or overcomplicated messaging;
helping your team choose between different approaches;
advising on what needs attention first.
What you will receive
Depending on the issue, your advisory support may include:
focused preparation before the call;
review of agreed background information;
review of one agreed piece of communication;
a focused advisory session;
practical recommendations;
clear next steps;
brief written follow-up notes.
The scope will be agreed in advance so the time is used where it will add the most value.
How it works
1. You complete a short briefing form
You explain the communication challenge, the decision you need to make and the outcome you want from the session.
You can also share one agreed item for review where relevant.
2. I prepare
I review the briefing, relevant background information and the agreed material before we meet.
Preparation time forms part of your purchased advisory time.
3. We work through the issue
The session stays focused on the questions and decisions that matter most.
I bring a clinical, strategic and audience-focused perspective to help you understand the issue and choose the clearest way forward.
4. You leave with clear next steps
You receive practical guidance that you can take back to your team and put into action.
Brief written follow-up notes are included where appropriate.
What this is best for
Strategic Advisory works well for:
organisations with an internal marketing, content or clinical team;
teams that need occasional expert input;
projects involving sensitive or high-stakes communication;
organisations seeking challenge or reassurance before publishing;
teams facing a specific communication decision;
organisations that need direction without commissioning a full audit or ongoing content programme.
What can be reviewed?
Strategic Advisory can include a focused review of one agreed item, such as:
one webpage;
one short article;
one patient information leaflet;
one email;
one landing page;
a short set of presentation slides;
a messaging document of an agreed length.
Larger documents, multiple resources or organisation-wide reviews may require a Communication Clarity Audit.
What is not included
Strategic Advisory does not usually include:
a full review of your website or communication system;
an organisation-wide audit;
rewriting large amounts of content;
ongoing content production;
extensive research;
formal user testing;
implementation of all recommendations.
Larger reviews may be better suited to the Communication Clarity Audit.
Ongoing planning and production may be better suited to the Health Content System.
Investment
Focused Strategic Advisory starts from £240.
This covers a minimum two-hour block, which may include:
preparation and background review;
review of one agreed piece of communication;
the advisory session;
brief written next steps.
How the time is used will be agreed before the session.
Additional advisory time is charged at £120 per hour.
For organisations that need regular input, monthly advisory support can be scoped separately.
Not sure whether Strategic Advisory is enough?
You do not need to choose the service before getting in touch.
