Communication Clarity Audit
Find out why your communication is not working — and what to change first
Your communication may be clinically accurate, evidence-based and professionally produced.
But people may still misunderstand it, hesitate to trust it or fail to act.
The Communication Clarity Audit identifies where your message is breaking down, why it is happening and which changes should be prioritised first.
From £600
Is this happening in your organisation?
You may be seeing:
low engagement or poor adoption;
repeated questions or confusion;
patients, professionals or users not taking the next step;
content that is accurate but difficult to understand or apply;
inconsistent messages across different resources;
uncertainty about what to improve before investing further.
You may know that something is not working without being able to identify the underlying problem.
That is where the audit begins.
What is a Communication Clarity Audit?
The audit is a structured review of selected communication.
Depending on your needs, this could include:
website pages;
patient or public information;
digital health product messaging;
clinical education or CPD materials;
product or service information;
campaign or launch communication;
professional guidance or resources.
I look beyond grammar and readability to assess whether the communication fits the audience, translates evidence clearly, builds trust and supports the intended action.
What you will receive
Your audit includes:
a structured review of the agreed communication;
a clear diagnosis of the main communication problems;
specific examples showing where and how the communication is breaking down;
prioritised recommendations based on likely impact;
practical quick wins;
longer-term strategic opportunities;
a professionally written PDF report;
a feedback call to discuss the findings.
The scope of the review will be agreed before work begins.
What I assess
Your communication is reviewed across seven areas:
audience fit;
clarity;
clinical translation;
workflow fit;
trust and credibility;
action and next steps;
adoption barriers.
These areas help identify not only what is unclear, but why the communication may be failing to achieve its intended purpose.
How the audit works
1. Discovery
You share the communication you would like reviewed, who it is for and what you need it to achieve.
We also discuss any known concerns, such as low engagement, poor adoption or repeated confusion.
2. Expert review
I assess the agreed materials using the ByteWise Communication Clarity Framework.
3. Communication diagnosis
I identify the main breakdowns, their likely impact and the underlying reasons they are happening.
4. Prioritised action plan
You receive clear recommendations showing what to address now, what can wait and where further work may be needed.
What you will know afterwards
By the end of the audit, you will understand:
where communication is breaking down;
why it may not be achieving the intended response;
which changes are likely to make the greatest difference;
what to prioritise first;
whether you need targeted improvements or a wider communication strategy.
You will leave with clear direction, not another vague list of suggested edits.
Why this is different
This is not proofreading or a traditional content review.
The audit looks at the gap between technically correct communication and communication that works for real people in real settings.
It combines more than 20 years of clinical experience with expertise in health communication, oral health and health informatics.
That means I consider not only whether the content reads well, but whether it:
makes sense to the intended audience;
reflects the realities of healthcare;
presents evidence responsibly;
supports confident decisions;
gives people a clear next step.
What is not included
The Communication Clarity Audit does not usually include:
rewriting all of the reviewed content;
creating a full communication s
user testing or formal audience research;
implementing every recommendation.
Support with implementation can be scoped separately where needed.
Investment
Communication Clarity Audits start from £600.

You will receive a clear scope and fixed quote before work begins.
Not sure whether the audit is the right starting point?
You do not need to diagnose the problem before getting in touch.
